Listening to music? In this economy?

I'm making this as a sort of digital diary to see how my music tastes evolve over time, including my favourite songs and artists. I'll be updating this whenever I remember about it.

As of right now, my music listening experience is nearly completely dominated by AQUASINE, Milkypossum, as well as occasional jumpscares from Metaroom, which I've just expected to be a regular occurance at this point. Also the occasional random breakouts from artists I barely listen to.

From AQUASINE specifically, my current favourite songs are:

And also a bunch of stuff that comes up on shuffle.

I really like these songs, they just scratch my brain in a nice way. I very much like the album artwork, which is incredibly good, at least to me. StreetPass Millionaire specifically relates to me since I did grow up with a DS, and I can understand what it's trying to say with the whole death of old technology. Point and Click is just kinda funny, why did Memo do that?? Web Fun Pack just plain sounds good.

Then, we also have Milkypossum, who I learned about first from the OST of picayune Dreams, an honestly fantastic survivors-like that I would recommend any fan of VS to play. The songs I'm currently listening to are:

For an artist I found by looking up the OST from a random game that just appeared in my steam wishlist one day, they are way, wayy better at making music than I expected. Obviously, I still love the picayune Dreams OST, and still listen to some of its songs frequently (Plusar is just the one I consider the best, Occultation and all of picayune's themes are also really good). Beautiful Princess Disorder, despite the superficial similarity to songs like Katamari, which I dislike, is actually really nice to listen to. Although it is a lot of screaming, the screaming is 1) Quiet enough for me to hear the actual melody, and 2) Not incoherent and actually tells a story. Although I traditionally dislike songs with lyrics, I do enjoy ones that have things to say and that I relate to, which is probably why I like it. Despite Malware's repetetiveness, it still sounds great. The melody behind it is catchy enough that I've caught myself randomly humming it, and the overall song is enough to get my imaginiation going, which is really the only requisite for me to like something.

Metaroom has always been in my music recommendations ever since I gained an intrest in Ǝna back in like 2019 or something, mainly because his music is that very specific niche I like to call "Hallucinogenic Music", which has the unique effect of making me specifically feel like I'm floating through the room at high speeds while I listen to it.

Pink Origins | God Race (Temptation Stairway) | God Race (Waltz) | Sticker Invasion | My Escape

Pink Origins is a song that came to me in a dream, I think. That's all the info you need about it. God Race is THE Metaroom song, mainly due to its use in Ǝna's largest and most popular animation, Temptation Stairway. I do actually prefer the Waltz version, it feels more like I'm ascending to another plane of existence or having my brain digitized. Sticker Invasion is an embodiment of "Never let them know your next move". Every couple of seconds something completely new happens, to the point that you can never predict what happens. Even after listening to it like 50 times, I still phase out sometimes and then snap back to reality after hearing a sound come from it that I'm certian I've never heard before. My Escape is a strange song, specifically because it sounds EXACTLY like a PengoSolvent song, to the point that I've confused it for one despite it being in a playlist without any of the aforementioned artist's music. Out of all of these songs though, it makes me feel the most like I'm lost in a dark maze that smells like cigarettes and ocean water, which is awesome.

Dream Eating Machine

I found this song while scouring Youtube for DELTARUNE unfiction, and found a remixed version of it. This song is fantastic, although I can't really put my finger(s) on why. It just sounds good, the lyrics make sense and I can relate to them, and the melody is incredible, I still haven't gotten tired of it despite having it constantly stuck in my head for the past month.

System Crash

I don't remeber how I found this song, but I like it. It feels like having my head hit with a large hammer repeatedly. I'd really like to be repeatedly hit in the head with a hammer.

Overclock Resurgence

I actually had the song this one is based on (Overclock Redemption) in my playlist when this one came out, and I quite like them both. I've been listening to resurgence a lot more recently tho, mainly because Freedom Motif Jumpscare.
